Le Vendée Globe is a famous solo race around the world without any stop or any assistance take place every 4 years from les Sables d'Olonne to les Sables d'Olonne.
Open 60s are one of the fastest boats in sailing — built in carbon fibre using the latest hi-tech structures, they are designed to be as light as possible (for speed) but strong enough to withstand the worst the seas can throw at them.

 On the road, 3 caps :

- le Cap de Bonne Espérance,
- le Cap Leeuwin,
- le Cap Horn.

On October 21st 2012, several navigators will set sails aboard their monohulls, heading towards the three great capes, marking the southern tips of the African continent, Australia and America.

The Vendée Globe will start, for the 7th time, from the harbour of Les Sables d’Olonne, where it was born.

And as far as the rest of the story is concerned… well, it’s up to the sailors themselves now.
