National forest of Olonne

Under the orders of Louis XV, the planting of the very first pine seedlings was succeeded by a series of major grow operations in 1837 across the dune ranges to protect the marshland.

The forest stretches for more than 1,000 hectares and a number of random or waymarked trails invite walkers to discover a variety of tree species (acacias, green oaks, maritime pines, etc…).
